Don died yesterday afternoon. We are going to miss him terribly, but we were truly blessed. He didn't really get sick till Aug 1 when we were fishing in Canada. I had to charter a float plane to come pick us up from a fishing lodge and take us to the nearest 10 bed hospital on Vancouver Island. They thought he had a heart attack, but it was actually his cancer catching up to him. We then got a medical jet to take us to the Univ. of Washington Hospital in Seattle where he stayed until the 5th when Life Flight came and picked us up and brought us back to Utah.
We brought him home Wednesday. He was up and about Saturday morning till we started morphine. He was waiting for Wendy to get out of the hospital and show him her new baby. He died yesterday afternoon an hour after Wendy and baby Lily arrived.
The Lord was very kind to him and us.

DON RAY KOCHEVAR
"Gone Fishing"
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend peacefully passed away at home on August 13, 2006 while surrounded by his family. He was a very loving, caring and generous man. He will be sorely missed by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was born on August 22, 1936 in Price, Utah to Joseph and Elva Prince Kochevar. His family moved to Los Angeles, California when he was a child. He graduated from Eagle Rock High School in 1954 and was an exceptional athlete in high school. Following graduation from high school, he attended college to pursue athletics and later served in the Army.
He resided in Southern California until moving to Sandy, Utah in 1971.
On April 23, 1960 he married Kathleen McCallister. They welcomed two children, Kelly and Brian, into their lives. They later divorced. On July 18th, 1969, he married the love of his life, Celia Dasso. They welcomed two children, Wendy and Kevin, into their lives. Heand Celia enjoyed many trips together, including frequent fishing excursions to Alaska and British Columbia. As a super husband and all around good guy, he fully supported Celia in her Assistance League endeavors. He only asked her not to buy too much stuff when she worked at the Thrift Shop. Donations in Don's name would be greatly appreciated.
